About Gail...Gail A. Glover is a master dance educator with 50 plus years in the field of dance. Beginning at an early age, she trained and danced with such notable schools and companies as Columbia City Ballet Co. (SC), The Dance Theatre of Harlem (NY) The Garden State Ballet Co. (NJ), Universal Women (NJ, NY, Conn.) and many others. She trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, African, creative movement, character and Liturgical dance. As an expert in her field, she serves as an Artist in Residence for the State of South Carolina, for twelve years held the position of state chair for the National Liturgical Network and is a member of the National Organization of Dance Educators. In March of 1997 she traveled to Russia, one in twenty - three educators, as an American ambassador in dance education with the People to People organization. She also created and directed the Summer Dance Institute in Nassau the Bahamas as an invited guest of the government. In 1989, Gail founded Ly-Ben Dance Theatre` (LDT). In January 2007, LDT transitioned into the Columbia Community Arts Centre - who's goal is to be an impact on the community through dance and the related Arts, and to be a catalyst for making the Arts available and accessible to the community regardless of circumstances. Gail personally enjoys, dance ministry, spending time with her family, reading, writing, singing, cooking and traveling. Professionally, she continues to facilitate conferences, workshops and residencies wherever she is called - to teach and reach the community through dance education.
